Technical requirements for accuracy and surface of LM shaft:
1. Surface roughness
Generally, surface roughness of shaft diameter matching transmission parts is Ra2.5~0.63μm, and that of supporting shaft diameter matching the bearing is Ra0.63~0.16μm.
2. Geometric precision
Geometric accuracy of LM shaft mainly refers to roundness and cylindricity of shaft journal, outer cone and Morse taper hole, the tolerance of which should be limited to the range of dimensional tolerance generally. For inner/outer circle surface with high requirement for accuracy, the allowable deviation should be marked on the drawing.
3. Dimensional accuracy
Generally, the supporting shaft journal for shaft positioning has high requirement for dimensional accuracy (IT5~IT7). However, the shaft journal for assembly of transmission parts has lower requirement for dimensional accuracy (IT6~IT9).
4. Mutual position accuracy
The requirement for position accuracy of LM shaft is decided by its position and function in machinery. Generally, coaxiality of the supporting shaft journal and the shaft journal for assembly of transmission parts should be guaranteed, otherwise, transmission accuracy of the parts (gears and etc.) will be affected, and noise generated. For shaft of general precision, radial runout of its matching shaft segment to the supporting shaft journal is 0.01~0.03mm, which is 0.001~0.005mm for high-precision shaft (such as main shaft).
